1.  Who should an individual contact about applying to go to Philmont with a Patriots' Path contingent?

The Philmont Contingent Administrator, Debbie Wickham (phone 973-765-9322 x239, e-mail dwickham@bsamail.org), should be contacted with questions about applying to be a member of a Philmont contingent crew.

 

2.  Who should a unit contact about applying to be a crew in a Patriots' Path Council Philmont contingent?

The Watchu Expedition Executive, Bob Morris (phone 973-765-9322 x223, e-mail romorris@bsamail.org) should be contacted with questions about a unit participating in a Philmont contingent as a crew.

 

3. Who should be contacted regarding administrative and payment issues?

The Philmont Contingent Administrator, Debbie Wickham (phone 973-765-9322 x239, e-mail dwickham@bsamail.org), should be contacted with questions about administrative and payment issues.

 

4. Who should be contacted regarding the Warren Wheeler Adventureship program?

The Philmont Contingent Administrator, Debbie Wickham (phone 973-765-9322 x239, e-mail dwickham@bsamail.org), will be happy to answer Warren Wheeler Adventureship program questions.  The Wheeler program is designed to help those who might need financial assistance, and Patriots' Path Council is committed to making Watchu and Philmont available to all eligible scouts and venturers.

 

5.  Where can answers to questions about Philmont and the Watchu Experience be found?

6. Who should be contacted with questions concerning crew development and training?

The Philmont Contingent Advisor, Dave Setzer (phone 973-377-5103, e-mail chiefwatchu@watchu.org), will be eager to help with questions concerning crew development and training, as well anything about the entire Patriots’ Path Watchu Experience not covered in the Frequently Asked Questions.

 

7. Is it possible for the Watchu team to assign a mentor to a Philmont crew?

Absolutely. The chief of Watchu Mentors is Alan Thomson (e-mail chiefwatchu@watchu.org) who will be happy to work with a crew and assign a member of the Watchu team to provide the support needed.  Let him know the specific needs and he will find the perfect mentor for your crew.

 

8. What is the contact information for Philmont?

Call the Philmont operator at 575-376-2281 (note-new area code) and ask for the department you wish to speak with (Camping Headquarters, Trading Post, Medical, etc.).  The mailing address is:

9. How can the Trading Post at Philmont be contacted?

The Trading Post at Philmont is called the "Tooth of Time Traders,” reached through the main Philmont phone number, 575-376-2281 (note-new area code), and asking for the Tooth of Time Traders.  Their catalog is on-line at www.toothoftimetraders.com

 

10. How can a crew member at Philmont be contacted in an emergency?

Have the crew number of your family member available for reference before calling the main Philmont phone number, 575-376-2281 (note-new area code), which is manned around the clock during the summer. Note that non-emergency contact with crew members is not possible.

 

11. I'm sure the answer to my question is on the Watchu Experience Web site, but how can I find it?

Click "Search" on the sidebar to search the Watchu Experience Web pages by keyword.
